Painting classes

I have over 21 years of experience as a professional painter.

Oil or acrylic painters welcome. 

Age 18 and older suggested. (Query for all else.)

All levels welcome, no experience needed.

Class sizes are limited. This equals loads of one on one time!
Students will be emailed a supply list when class is confirmed. 

Vibrancy Of Color- Class Description- The painting class will focus on the fundamentals essential to oil painting. Emphasis is placed on properly starting a painting and relationships found within a subject. We will discuss equipment, design concepts, abstraction, tone, color, paint handling. Fine tuning will be ongoing We will be exploring and learning to see color, how to simplify your creation, shadow planes vs light planes, color change vs value change, perspective, pushing distance, adding the opposite on the color wheel does not make your shadow color, white is not the answer to making something lighter... and more. We will have fun and laugh a lot as well. I look forward to working with you! 

* Bring photos and ideas for reference. The studio has some photos for resource as well. 

Create fabulous and even whimsical paintings for yourself, as unique gifts or just because. 

• Depict members of your family, grandchildren or friends as animals- reindeer, owls, felines and such... (It's a commemorative portrait of your loved ones!!)
• Oh Christmas Tree- Create a jaunty and cheerful holiday tree filled with everything you might imagine! Or Snowmen, night scenes, holiday ornaments, gift boxes, reindeer...
• Picasso-esque. Interpret images in a way similar to Picasso. Paint a portrait of yourself or another person or three self portraits from three different views. Or- create a still life. Alter your images, rearrange, flip, rotate the parts...
• Have another idea you would like to explore. Let me know.
